About This Category

The life calculators deal with small decisions that repeat: how much to tip, what a discount really saves, how much water to drink, when a deadline lands. They are quick to use, yet this is where most everyday arithmetic mistakes happen.

The time and date tools are the ones people come back to. Adding a month to 31 January, converting between time zones or reading a Unix timestamp all depend on conventions, and each page states the one it uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BMI result a health diagnosis?

No. It is a screening figure derived from population data, blind to muscle mass, fat distribution and ethnicity. A high or low value is a prompt to look further, not a conclusion.

Why is lottery prize tax not a single rate?

Because the rules are progressive or exempt up to a threshold depending on the country, and each jurisdiction sets its own bands. The calculator applies the bands of the country for the selected language and shows tax and net prize separately.

Do the time tools include today?

The countdown and date tools state whether the start day counts. Legal deadlines normally exclude the first day and include the last, which is why the convention is written on the page instead of assumed.
